Q: I used the EmbCard to write designs for a Brother machine by the Magic Box. When I try to read this card using the PE Design card reader, PE Design displays the message:
Card not recognised
A: The reason for the message is that the Magic Box writes a Brother format card as an "embroider only" card. PE Design will not read "embroider only" cards.
W None

Q: I used the EmbCard to write designs for a Brother machine by the Magic Box. When I try to write to this card using the PE Design card writer, PE Design displays the message:
Card read only
A: The reason for the message is that the Magic Box writes a Brother format card as a "read only" card. PE Design will not overwrite "read only" cards.
W You can work around this problem by writing the design above to the EmbCard using the Viking 1+ option of the Magic Box.

Q: I wrote designs to the EmbCard using the PE Design card writer. When I try to write designs to this card using the Magic Box, the Magic Box software sometimes displays the message:
Card not re-writable
A: The reason for the message is that the Magic Box tries to recognise pre-programmed cards. The Magic Box will not overwrite pre-programmed cards. Your card is incorrectly recognised as a pre-programmed card.
W You can work around this problem by writing the design above to the EmbCard using PE Design. The Magic Box will after that recognise the EmbCard as a re-writable card.

Q: I used the EmbCard to write designs for a Brother machine by PES2Card. When I try to write designs to this card using the PE Design card writer, PE Design displays the message:
Card read only
A: The reason for the message is that PES2Card writes a Brother format card as a "read only" card. PE Design will not overwrite "read only" cards.
W1 Erase the EmbCard using the Erase function of PES2Card.
W2 PES2Card Utility (2.20.xx and later) will no longer mark Brother cards as "read only".
